Syrian cultural objects restored to Syrian DGAM recently

According to Syrian official sources the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums (DGAM), a number of artifacts which had been confiscated by the Lebanese authorities in Lebanon in May 2013 have been restored currently to DGAM. The bulk of the material, that is rich and diverse, consists of:

  • 14 funerary statues originated from Palmyra
  • 33 stone objects including rules and basins and mills grain, crowns columns that are diagnostic for the Classical Syrian archaeology (Roman and Byzantine Era).
  • 22 vessels made of pottery dating back to the Bronze Age and to the Roman Era
